Golden Connections

The Neighbourhood Trust serves our active, aging population by providing events and programmes suited to the over 55s which include the following:

Golden Tours

These tours are for those aged 55 years and over. The Trust runs half and full day bus trips to places of interest. They are heavily subsidised to keep costs to a minimum.

Golden Pathways

This is a traditional church service that runs for ¾ hour, with hymns, prayers, readings and a short message. It begins at 10.30am and ends with morning tea. It is held at St Albans Baptist Church (SABC) at 64 McFaddens Rd, St Albans, Christchurch.

Golden Spoils

A relaxed morning tea held in the SABC lounge beginning at 10.30am, with no charge. Often have speakers on a range of relevant topics.  These are held twice in the six weekly cycle.  See the Golden Connection Card for details.

Foot Clinic

Enjoy a soak in the foot spa, then a relaxing massage and nail trim by a registered nurse. Bookings essential. Cost: $15.

Golden Meal

Come along for a warm community meal with dessert at midday. Entertainment follows the meal. A gold coin donation helps defray costs. PLEASE NOTE: With the extensions happening at St Albans Baptist, the meals will be at St Mathews' Anglican, 145 Cranford Street during June/September.  Please book for this activity for catering purposes.

These activities are displayed on a “Golden Connection” card that is sent out regularly to those on the contact list.

If you would like to receive this card please contact Tony on 355-6522 or visit him at the church office.
