Ante natal CoursesFREE 4-week ante natal course, with tutor Tiffany Hamilton, who has worked in women's health for over ten years and works in ante-natal and post-natal care at Christchurch Women's and St George's Hospitals. This replaces KiwiMums. It meets every Tuesday from 9.30am-11.30am, during term time. A great chance to have a coffee and a chat with other parents. Activities are available for the children. A Parent Educator is available on the 3rd Tuesday of the month to help with any tricky questions. Cost $30 (includes manual) Parenting Teens courseThis six-week Toolbox course is designed to equip and help you through parenting the teenage years. These years can be pretty rough and it can be difficult to know how to deal with some of the increased stresses and changes. Upskill in reading, spelling and mathsIf you are 16 - 24 years of age and would like some help in reading, spelling and/or maths, give us a call. Thanks to the Ministry of Youth Development, the Tindall Foundation, the John Ilott Charitable Trust and the Strathlachan Fund we are now able to assist in tutoring using Successmaker NZ software. It's a fun, easy to use programme that will get you on the path to success and open new doors for you. The learning can happen at our homebase at St Albans Baptist Church, at Shirley Early Years Hub, Waipuna Trust or at your place. Perfect for if you are at home with a preschooler and want to upskill for further learning or returning to the workforce. One hour sessions, one or two times per week. Work at your own pace; set your own goals.
