Game On!
Don is the contact person for our Dads’ parenting course, called Game On!
It’s a 6 week course, held one night a week for a couple of hours each night. We aim to run a course each term and have between 8 -12 participants per course.
Game On! seeks to support men by promoting active and involved fathers and providing a space to discuss the skills needed to be a better Dad. The key philosophy of the Game On! course is to help men engage with the reasons why they want to be Dads. Once this has been noted and discussed by the group, the course moves towards providing parenting information that is relevant, grounded and practical. In this way the wisdom in the room is acknowledged, along with respecting where each man is at in his journey as a father.
The course covers the following topics:
- What I want for my kids
- What kind of Dad I want to be
- Communication
- Discipline
- Nutrition & the brain
- Wrap up session and celebration
Most Dads are doing the best they can with what they know, and when they know better they can do better. This course is aimed at helping dads who want to be better Dads – whatever stage you’re at.
Cost:
The course costs $75 per participant to run. If you can afford it, great. If not, please don’t let that be a barrier. Talk to us and we’ll see what we can arrange. If you’d like to sponsor a Dad to come on the course, please talk to us. We’d love to hear from you too.
