Kiwi Dads

Kia ora Whānau, I’d like to introduce myself and explain a bit about Kiwi Dads Christchurch.
My name is Don Benn and I’m a Community Development Worker with the Neighbourhood Trust, and we are based at St Albans Baptist Church.

I’m the admin for the Kiwi Dads facebook page which you can find at www.facebook.com/KiwiDadsChch .  Kiwi Dads is designed to encourage, inspire, and inform Dads in their role as a parent.

I’m a Dad to three amazing kids, now in their late teenage / young adult stages of life.  We (my wife and I) absolutely love being around them and helping them navigate the challenges of growing up. We talk, laugh, and share a lot together as we negotiate those challenges.  Parenting never ends, it just moves into different stages, so you’re always learning.  Check out the Game On! Dads Parenting course that I run, as this can also add value to your role as a parent.

As a Community Development Worker, I am available to meet with Dads to simply chat, support, and encourage them in their role as a Dad. I’ll even shout a coffee. I bring a listening ear and a few years of experience as a parent to understand the challenges and offer any advice that may help.
